INCREASE OF BEES POPULATION VS. COLONY COLLAPSE DISORDER-C.C.D

Almost every day, some article it will appear in the press, printed and electronic, regarding the beehives and the COLLONIES COLLAPSE DISORDER - C.C.D – These articles, being recycled with impressive speed, in a way ring the “bell of” danger and spreading mainly panic in the apiarists of almost every country.

Analyses upon analyses, opinions upon cross opinions and endless theories for the eventual causes are seen the light of publicity, with regards the C.C.D., without actually to offer itself a concrete explanation of this Syndrome.

Governments they began to finance scientific studies, in an effort to find a solution to explain this phenomenon, and it is just natural that the concern of apiarists is increased.

Whilst the concern takes into the hearts of the apiarist in almost of the entire world, it seems that over and above 600 apiarists in my country (and their number is increasing daily) , closely working and cooperating with our ALOE VERA CENTER, are not concerned at all about C.C.D.

Allow me to elaborate a bit further:

A very important factor in the Apiculture is the elimination of bees’ disappearance from the hives, due to any cause and simultaneously the increase of the colonies population.
This factor is of vital importance for the apiarist, because the elimination of bees’ disappearance along with the simultaneous rapid increase of colonies population, offers to him the possibility, of achieving multiple objectives at the duration of apiarian period.

These objectives are:
Elimination of diseases. All researches and all advices of scientists and experts, lead always to the same conclusion. Maintaining strong colonies and healthy bees, almost all diseases are avoided in the apiary.
Recuperation of lost colonies’ population. Even if it comes to the worst, and it is happening in a apiarist to suffer population losses for various reasons, as poisonings, diseases, accidents etc, with the offered by us possibility, of an immediate increase of colonies population in very small time intervals, the balance in his apiary and his and pocket is not disturbed.
Preparing the bees with programmed plans and applications that we propose, the apiarist can enjoy the maximum of collection of each flora.

As an example:
The collection of 35-40 kilos honey bee, per hive from our apiarists, reached last year, is already considered today as a natural fact, against the collection of the 5-7 kilos of honey from the other apiarists of same region, and against the collection of honey of previous years.

When the beehives of one of our apiarist were full with 10 frames, at the beginning of the new season, with very strong, healthy and busy bees, and his neighbor colleague hives were with 3 frames, with sick and unable to fly bees, our apiarist was considered “lucky”.

Even at a period when a “vacuum of flora” existed and with the appropriate preparation of the colny, the beehives filled with honey, the fact, whilst at first glance was considered “inexplicable”, it was in fact very simple afterwards when the explanations were given.

When the last quarter of the year 2007, islanders of “rocky” Greek islands, transmitted SOS for their colonies population losses, because of the prolonged drought, and the islanders were talking for an inexplicable “Collapse of Colonies Population” in their hives, the results of our planned applications that we have prepared were as follows:

The immediate and drastic STOP of the Colonies population disappearance and losses.
The exceptionally increase of new brood eggs, with natural consequence the increased production of a SOLID and healthy NEW brood in the entire surface of the frames from wall-to-wall.
After 20-25 days, and after the completion of the proposed applications, it was observed the well known to us increase of bees population which indeed exceeded every expectation, at the rate of the 100% population increase.

When, however, after such results the dry period was continued, with the entire lack of flora of any kind, neither ourselves nor the apiarists stood with “hands up”. They took our advise and suggestions and repeated the applications for another month, so that again young and very strong brood appeared, new frames and floors were added in the beehives, until in October finally the so much expected and desired rainfalls came, the flora around opened and the bees began to do what they know very well, i.e. to collect the goods and the products of the mother nature.

In Cyprus, it is known that the apiculture was destroyed in 2008 because of the drought. The, once upon the time, strong colonies of the beehives of the two and three floors, left miserably singly hives with two-three frames of population in January 2009.
Everyone was speaking for the mysterious “Colony Collapse Disorder” phaenomenon

The first trials in 30 beehives of 3 frames population, in January 2009, had as result the rapid increase of bees population, and in April 2009, the 30 beehives became THREE FLOORED. The initial surprise continued. The FIRST COLLECTION of HONEY was a FACT. The optimism and the grins returned in the hearts and the lips of the Cypriot apiarists.

These results and many others are published to our blog http://bees-aloevera.blogspot.com in Greek language, and this is the reasons that we placed a “Google translator”, for those who care to find out what is going on in the Greek Apiculture and the solutions we provide.

However some of these results are published to this blog as well . We sincere apologize, because there are not more articles in English or in another language German or French.

Following such achievements it just logical that a lot of queries to be raised as to how it can happen these things. However the things are SO MUCH SIMPLE for those that they want and have the desire to see what's going on in the world of bees.

Someone called Jay Abraham, said: “You are surrounded by simple, obvious solutions that can dramatically increase your income, power, influence and success. The problem is, you just don't see them”.

- Those that read the results, and decide to take the destiny of their apiaries in their hands, cross the information with their colleagues, and they adhere in our Beekeepers Network , achieving themselves similar and/or better still results. IT IS JUST TOO SIMPLE.

- Those that read the results, and having queries, we provide them with additional information, for their further consideration.

What we know ourselves is that the good development and increase of population of the colonies depend on:
- The age and the faculty of the queen to lay eggs.
- The number of adult worker bees, so that the correct temperature inside the hives is ensured, as well as the proper feeding of the brood is achieved.
- The sufficiency of natural resources of the particular region of the apiary
- The correct management by the apiarist, with the suitable per season handlings and applications of products of Aloe Vera.

With a Network of roughly 600 apiarists:
- With a great attention to ensure that the queen lays much more eggs than the usual.
- Increasing the number of extremely healthy bees.
- Creating “armies” of bees ready to fight.
- Adding to their food the essential natural resources, along with the suitable handlings per season.
We accomplished an great achievement and we changed the apiculture “SO SIMPLY” from a tiring and money eating job into a PLEASANT AND PROFITABLE PROFESSION.

What you will choose yourselves?

The incredible well-being of healthy bees, the very fast increase of colonies’ population, and the increase of honey production?

Or,

The syndrome of Colonies Collapse Disorder, and other suffered diseases?

Write us advising the problems you are confronted with. Or leave at comment in our blog.
We shall provide you with the solution.
It is so Simple.

BESS & ALOE VERA - TWO YEARS ON THE FIELD

Dear fellow beekeeper,

After two years of involvement in the the world of beekeeping, we believe that the time has come for an assessment of the challenges that all beekeepers face.
These challenges are, in the main, as follows:

Nosemosis (Nosema Apis), Dysentery, Paralysis, Virus of Chronic Paralysis, Black bees Illness, Poisonings, Colonies Collapse Disorder (C.C.D.), Chalkbrood (Ascosphaera Apis), Sacbrood (virus SBV), American Fool Brood , European Fool Brood and of course the Varroasis.

The ALOE VERA CENTER of Greece was created for resolving the problems with which beekeepers are confronted with the use of natural products only and with absolutely easy handling of beekeeping practices.

There are now 448 Greek beekeepers, as of 31/7/2008, who have joined us and applied the solutions that we proposed to them, notwithstanding how impressive it appears, it is evidence of how well we have accomplished our aim so far.

The above Greek beekeepers are spread, geographically, all over the country, as below:
Number of beekeepers - 9 ...... Thrace ( North East Greece)
Number of beekeepers - 53 ..... Macedonia (North Greece)
Number of beekeepers - 37 ..... Epirus - Eptanisa (West Greece- Ionian Islands)
Number of beekeepers - 25 ..... Thessaly ( Central Greece)
Number of beekeepers - 132..Central Greece
Number of beekeepers - 78 ..... Peloponissos (South Greece)
Number of beekeepers - 59 ..... Aegean Islands
Number of beekeepers - 60 ..... Crete Island
Number of beekeepers - 1 .... Cyprus
TOTAL OF BEEKEEPERS COOPERATING: 448
GREECE HAS THE 2nd LARGEST NUMBER OF BEEKEEPERS IN EUROPE.
Total of registered beekeepers Greece (2006) ..... 20,111
Out of which Professional beekeepers............... 6,234
BEEKEEPERS COOPERATING WITH US....................... 448
THEREFORE 7,18% OF THE PROFESSIONAL BEEKEEPERS
OR 2,2% OF THE TOTAL BEEKEEPERS.

What we have achieved in only 2 years is as that we have assisted the majority of these 448 Greek beekeepers to:

-Convert into a profitable business, a business which for a long time has been loss-making and frustrated profession. This at a time when beekeepers in Europe and in the rest of the world are suffering and bitterly complaining about losses, disasters, diseases, collapses, disappearances of bees etc. -

-To enjoy incredible increase of a new strong "army" of healthy bees' population, throughout the year, by eliminating population losses, notwithstanding the cause.
-Eliminate the problems arising from the transportation of the apiaries and change of flora.

- Avoid the so many damaging bees' diseases, and change the philosophy, psychology and the mentality of the management of the apiaries. The moaning, the pessimism and the disappointment and the expenses have given way to the joy and the happiness of being a beekeeper.

- Finally putting money into the pocket of apiarists.

Record quantities of honey have been harvested (10-15-20 kgs/hive), at the same seasons, from the same regions, where other apiarists cannot harvest even a few kilos honey. Beekeepers who were used to harvesting honey once or maximum twice per year, are harvesting now more than three or four times per year.

However, it was not easy at all times for us.

-Some of them tried the products and had unsuccessful results from the first applications. Though were disappointed, they didn't quit and they tried again. They were highly rewarded results for their determination

- Some of them , a very few, being disappointed from the initial results abandoned the applications. It was their decision. We arranged for the money that they had paid for the products to be returned to them.

However, these successful results, under no circumstances give us the right to claim that we became "Masters¨ or "Guru" in beekeeping, at least not yet. We still have more to learn.
In all honesty what we would say is than our knowledge and experience in fighting the various bees' diseases with natural products has been tremendously broadened, though sometimes we are not in a position to offer a reasonable explanation e.g.; why varroa mites do not develop into the larvae, after treating the hives with the products...

We believe that you will find this assessment of great interest.

In our blog there are examples of our achievements.

We are in the process of enriching the blog with more and more incidents and results, though we have yet to translate everything into English.

However our blog is open to the comments of everybody who wishes to comment.
We like to be asked questions and even to be criticized.
The criticism, helps us to become better and better.

Therefore please do come, discuss and ask us questions about the problems that you are confronted with.
We will provide you with the appropriate solution..
- To inform you by e-mail or fax about the ways by which you can overcome and avoid the on-going problems.
- To learn how cooperation with us is leading beekeepers to make their colonies immune and resistant to the diseases, and how these diseases are disappearing from the apiaries .
- To learn how the beekeepers in our country have achieved the harvesting of record quantities of honey, throughout the year, whilst their colleagues are on the point of abandoning beekeeping due to losses incurred.
- Our seasonal and yearly programs for strengthening the immune systems of the bees and increase of their population, so that you always have available an "embattled and crowded army", ready to exploit every occasion and opportunity that is presented.

WHEN PREPARATION MEETS THE OPPORTUNITY = GOOD FORTUNE AND MONEY

ALL ABOVE SERVICES ARE OFFERED FREE OF ANY CHARGE AND/OR FEES TO BEEKEEPERS.

Our objective and our aim are to help in finding solutions to the problems.
We are not magicians, consequently certain failures will occur from time-to-time.
We are however here in order to confront, face and correct the situation.
We are learning and are taught by the experience of our trials and yours.

With friendly greetings

NOSEMOSIS -Nosema Apis - TILOS ISLAND

Beekeeper - KOUMPANIOS PANTELIS - Tilos Island - Dodekanissa

Upon inspection of his hives, at the begining of the year, Pantelis observed infestation of the combs in all hives by Nosemosis - Nosema apis spores.

Samples have been taken and sent to the relevant laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, in the nearby island of Rodos, Κ.Κ.Ι.Α, and upon examination the following certificate had been issued:
26/3/2008 . Reg. Number of the case 1402.
Subject "Examination results"

"We wish to inform you, that the microscopic analysis of your sample which you sent to us, revealed that, same, is infested by the spores of Nosema Apis.

Fuerhtermore please note that as there is no pharmaceutical treatment for eliminating this disease, we recomment that you proceed with "beekeeping practices" only for elimination of the Nosemosis".

Under above circumastances Pantelis contacted us, requesting our assistance for elimination of the Nosemosis. Unfortunately, in the examination results it was not specified neither the number of spores nor the degree of infestation of infestation was mentioned, however Pantelis advised that there exists an acute case of Nosemosis.
He described the situation as follows:
-Plenty of yellow to brown streaks in the flight deck, inside and outside the hives.
-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives unable to fly.
-The bellies of the bees were swollen.

We proceeded and despatched the products along with the application instructions for the elimination of Nosemosis.

Three applications, each one in intervals of six days, taken place during April 2008, by spraying the solution directly to the bees inside the hives.(It is not required to take the frames out of the hive).

A pleasantly surpried Pantelis reported at the begining of May 2008, that to his amazement, a week later after the completion of the 3rd application, all symptoms of Nosemosis have been DISAPPEARED, the inside of the hives is appearing extremely clean with the wax frames shining, and the bees maintain an incredible health, with their immune system boosted, ready for work.

Pantelis' succesful results did not came as a surprise to us.
These results, simply confirmed the countless of similar results which the beekeepers from all over Greece are reporting to us, after treating their combs for the Noemosis' elimination with our products.

They also confirm the efficacy of the products ALOE VERA CENTER is recommending, and they can safely be included in the "beekeeping practices" in eliminating various bees' conditions, without resorting to chemicals or pharmaceutical solutions and treatments.
We start from the point people would say "THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE", and four weeks later are amazed from the astonishing results.

Pantelis is an English spoken beekeeper, for any one who wants to contact him.

SACBROOD - Virus SBV

Sacbrood is a viral infection of brood (virus SBV).
It was one of the first insect viruses to be identified (1917).
It looks much alike with Acute Paralysis Virus.

On larvae, the virus is detected in the fat, muscle tissue and trachea.
In adult’s bees, is detected in large quantities in their tissues.
The virus lies mainly in the head, especially in sub-pharynges glands from where the virus passes to larvae.
Initially during an infection, the virus particles are multiplied in the developing larva, which appear to develop normally until after being capped over
The infected larvae turn a pale yellow colour; they remain stretched out on their backs, heads towards the top of the capped cell.
Liquid accumulates between the body of the larva and its unshed skin, thereafter the larvae become as a fluid-filled sac, hence the name
The larvae will eventually die and begin to dry out, turning from a dark brown to black colour, giving rise to the characteristic of ‘Chinese slippers’ or ‘gondola-shaped’ scales.
As the larvae die, the worker bees will uncap the cells in order to expose them
There are no treatments available for sacbrood, but the virus will not usually be a large problem, tending to affect small areas of brood only.
However, in cases where there are large areas of brood clearly affected then it would be best to re-queen the colony.

The bees infected by the virus, do not present any external change. However they can not carry pollen, thus are converted into collector bees but unable to collect and carry pollen.
More often the bees die prematurely, without showing any symptoms.

Infectious are the white, rotten larvae only. During the cleaning process of the cells, the bees are infested by the virus and through the sub-pharynges glands they transfer the virus into the brood’s food.
The disease spreads rapidly in the spring, when the rate of infected catering-bees is greater.
The virus seems to survive the winter in the adult’s bees. The brown colour dried larvae are not infectious.

The worker bees will be in a reasonable position to successfully remove the dead brood from the cells.
Exchange of infected wax helps the spread of infection. In cases where there is a large infection of the brood it would be better to replace the queens in the colony.

The main cause for the development of this virus is the inadequate supply of food to the brood. The sacbrood appears as a side effect of varroasis when the number of mites is very large, so it must be taken care for the reduction of infectious load of varroa mites.

TREATMENT OF SACBROOD
By our devised solutionin which we re mixing Aloe vera Gel No 15, Vitamins B12 and Bee pollen tablets no 26, and by sparying the solution onto the bees, we have succesfully overcomed this condition and our Greek beekeepers are now ejoying very strong healthy collonies.

CHALKBROOD - Ascosphaera apis

Symptoms and cause

Chalkbrood will probably be seen in most colonies at some time but at varying degrees of severity. It is caused by the fungal pathogen Ascosphaera apis. Spores of the fungus enter the developing larva through the cuticle or orally with contaminated food. These spores germinate and the hyphae of the fungus invade the cells, killing the larva (usually after it has been capped over). Initially the dead larvae will be covered with a white cotton wool-like growth and may swell to fill the cell taking on its shape. After a time these will dry out and shrink to give the characteristic ‘mummies’ that are chalk-like at first turning to a greyish black colour as the fungal fruiting bodies develop. Worker bees uncap the cells of dead larvae so the mummies will be clearly visible; they will also be removed by the workers and may be seen in high numbers on the floorboard or at the entrance to the hive. In very heavily infected colonies, the workers will not be able to uncap all of the affected cells and if a comb is shaken the mummies may be heard rattling in the cells.

SpreadEach chalkbrood mummy produces millions of spores that will adhere to cells and adult bees. It is these spores that are the infective stage of the fungus and may remain viable for up to 15 years. The spores can be spread from hive to hive by drifting bees, or by the beekeeper on equipment and frames moved between colonies.

Treatment and control
A good, strong healthy colony will usually be able to tolerate chalkbrood and it is not usually a serious disease. However, in smaller colonies or those under stress (for example suffering heavy varroa infestations,or death caused to pesticides, ot sudden freezing temperatures during spring time, or lack of worker bees) chalkbrood can be a problem. The best method for keeping chalkbrood to a minimum is the maintenance good strong stocks of bees, although in particularly bad cases the problem may be solved by re-queening with a young and vigorous queen from a chalkbrood-free colony. Choice of apiary site is also important and you should avoid damp sites.

ELIMINATION OF CHALKBROOD WITH ALOE VERA PRODUCTS
Treatment with Aloevera Products by spaying the bees, or by injecting on to the frames, with the appropriate solution is very effective for chalkbrood elimination.

Our proceedure for population increase, thus secuing very strong healthy colonies, is the best way in preventing the appearanc of chalkbrrod.

(See also POPULATION INCREASE in our blog)

Mixing Aloe Vera products with the syrup is not recommended. It is both waist of time and money.

NOSEMOSIS - KOS ISLAND

THE SUCCESS STORY of the Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination goes on….
Beekeeper: PARADHISIS ARGIRIS – Location: Kos Island , East Greece

Argiris noticed symptoms of Nosemosis caused by Nosema apis, in the entire apiary once the season of forage in pine trees ended on about September 2007. He had not means for microscopic analysis, however after visual examination he described the symptom as follows:

-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives inactive, slothful and unable to fly
-Plenty of yellow to brown streaks in the flight deck, inside and outside the hives and in the environment around...
.
We suggested THREE applications with the Aloe Vera Drink No 15 along with the mixture of Bee Propolis tablets.

Selected application: By spraying the bees inside the hives.
The three applications effected during the period of first half of October 2007.

Beginning of November 2007, Argiris reported to us the following:
1.Five days after the first application, he noticed that the amount of streaks inside and outside the hives was reduced down to 50%.
2.Five days after the second application, he noticed not any more remainders inside the hives, but only in the flight deck.
3.Three days after the third application all symptoms of Nosemosis have been disappeared, the bees returned to a remarkable health status, becoming very active.

We checked the status of Argiris’ apiary at the beginning of the year 2008, and a very happy Argiris declared that he suffered no losses during the winter time, the bees’ extremely good health is maintained with very active and strongly flying bees and she shall repeat the applications in May purely for prevention purposes.

We thank Argiris for his reports.

NOSEMOSIS -KARPATHOS ISLAND

ANOTHER REMARKABLE SUCCESS STORY of the Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination.
Beekeeper: GERGATSOULIS EVANGELOS – Location: Karpathos Island , East Greece

The thyme is the main honeybee and it is known that thyme honeybees enjoy, besides its reputation, very good selling prices. Thus the Beekeepers of the Islands are highly concerned when it comes to bees’ diseases, as same are affecting the production of the honeybee.

Evangelos noticed symptoms of Nosemosis in 100 hives of his apiary on mid January 2008 which he described as follows:

-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives inactive, slothful and unable to fly
-Plenty of yellow streaks in the flight deck, inside and outside the hives and in the environment around...
-A general slow build up was very obvious by commencing the new period.

No microscopic analysis took place (The island has no such facilities there),but inspection by eye observation.
We suggested FOUR applications with the Aloe Vera Drink No 15.

Selected application: By spraying the bees inside the hives.
The three applications effected during the period of January 29-February 10.

We received the following message, in free translation from the Greek language, from Vangelis on February 11, 2008

NOSEMOSIS -LIXOURI-CEPHALLONIA, WEST GREECE

ANOTHER REMARKABLE SUCCESS STORY of Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination.

Beekeeper: Maroulis Socrates – Location: Lixouri –Cephallonia Island , West Greece

Socrates maintains an apiary consisting of 300 hives with population of 10 frames each.
When he contacted us had already lost 50 hives and acute Nosemosis was blamed for such losses.
The hive’s population to remained 250 hives it had been reduced down to 4 frames, average per hive, on 20/3/2008..

An over concerned Socrates reported that the conditions of the infested bees were:

-Black bees present in most of the hives.(It was suspected “Forrest disease” as well).
-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives inactive, slothful and unable to fly
-Plenty of yellow streaks in the flight deck and on the hives and the outside.
-A general slow spring build up was very obvious.

Because the microscopic analysis showed “Acute Nosemosis”, we suggested four applications instead the normal three applications.
We supplied Socrates with the appropriate number of Aloe Vera drink No 15 and other products containing vitamins and amino acids, along with the application instructions and he proceeded accordingly.

Selected application: By spraying the bees inside the hives.
First application effected on 23/02/2007
Second “ “ on 28/02/2007
Third “ “ on 4/03/2007
Fourth “ “ on 10/03/2007

Upon inspection of the apiary on 13/03/2008 Socrates reported his observations:

-Symptoms of Nosemosis DISAPPEARED entirely from the apiary.
-There is still a very small number of black bees, but they look very healthy and very active.
-Adult bees of the entire apiary, regained their strength, are extremely healthy with very strong wings’ fluttering. Incredibly active, and busy swarms in the entire apiary.
-NEW BROOD. Appeared Healthy, SOLID, COMPACT, wall-to-wall.
-Socrates estimates that all hives would have a population of a minimum 10 frames per hive in three weeks time.

NOSEMOSIS -ISTIEA, EVIA -CENTRAL GREECE

A REMARKABLE SUCCESS STORY of Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination.
Beekeeper: Nicos Arsenopoulos – Location: Istiea –Evia, Central Greece

Nicos had a dream. He wanted to build an apiary with 500 hives, so that can dedicate all his time looking after his apiary, thus fulfilling his grandfather’s wish. Working very hard he was pumping money to the apiary in his effort to see his dream coming true.
Thus he had managed and maintained an apiary of about 500 hives between of 2002-2006.
To his much regret, the apiary was infested by Nosemosis, Sacbrood diseases and Varroa, resulting to the loss of 250 hives in mid 2006...
As above disaster was not enough, another blow hit Nicos’ apiary. During the period September 2006 –May 2007 he lost another 170 hives.Nosemosis was blamed, and he had left with 80 hives, all very weak, with population not exceeding the 5 frames of adult bees and 2 frames of brood.

The conditions of the infested bees were:

A) By Nosemosis – Nosema Apis
-Bees with swollen abdomen, unable to defecate.
-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives with tremor, inactive, slothful and unable to fly
-Plenty of yellow streaks in the flight deck and inside the hives.
-A general slow spring build up was very obvious.

We supplied Nicos with the appropriate number of Aloe Vera drink No 15, along with the application instructions and he proceeded accordingly.

B) By Chalkbrood – Apis Ascosphaera
-Visible symptoms of Chalkbrood in the 80% of brood population in each hive.
-Scarce and scant brood in the frames
-Average population of brood 1-2 frames per hive

D) Population of adult bees were at 5 frames per hive

E) Despite the rich flowering in the area, marginal quantities of honey bee were in the hives.

We agreed with Nicos to start tackling the Nosemosis first, and go step-by-step to restore the conditions in all hives.

Applications with Aloe Vera Drink No 15 commenced on 08/05/2007 by spraying the bees.
Second Application by spraying the bees effected on 11/05/2007
Third application by spraying the bees effected on 17/05/2007.

Upon inspection of the apiary on 20/5/2007 it was observed:
-Symptoms of Nosemosis DISAPPEARED.
-Symptoms of Chalkbrood reduced down to 90%
-NEW BROOD. Appeared Healthy, SOLID, COMPACT, wall-to-wall reaching 5 frames per hive, i.e. an incredible increase in excess of 300%.
-HONEYBEE. Amazing quantities were accumulated.
-The wax appeared very clean and shiny.
-Incredibly active and very strong and busy swarms in the entire apiary.

In such conditions Nicos decided and loaded the apiary on to the truck on 25/5/2007, and transported the apiary across to the mainland, Karpenisi area where fir flowering was commencing.

Nicos enjoys today an apiary with 140 hives, all double and triple floored, with healthy bees, he estimates that he shall have in September close to 300 hives and he looks forward to see his dream coming true by next year, thanks to the constant treatment of his bees with the Aloe Vera Products and the recommendations of our Aloe Vera Center.

NOSEMOSIS -TRIKALA - CENTRAL GREECE

Success of Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination.

Beekeeper : Papaionannou Sotiris – Location: Trikala , Central Greece

Mid of September 2007 , Sotiris was seriously concerned because of the bees conditions showing the following symptoms.

-Bees with swollen abdomen, unable to defecate.
-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives unable to fly.

We supplied Vangelis with the appropriate number of Aloe Vera drink No 15, along with the application instructions and he proceeded accordingly.

Upon completion of the applications, Sotiris noticed and reported to us the following:

-The next day of the first application the abdomen of bees were deflated.
-Presence of yellow streaks in the flight deck and outside the hives, as well as in
the truck’s windshield, evidencing the infestation of bees by Nosemosis.
-Upon completion of the 3rd application the bees were fully recovered and were
flying in a very strong manner
-The entire population looks extremely healthy

An impressed Sotiris for such results, he also reported that in the hives treated with Aloe Vera for Nosemosis, it was observed NEW BROOD, extremely healthy, Solidly spread wall-to-wall of the frames..

NOSEMOSIS -LIOTOCHORO - NORTH GREECE

Another success of Nosemosis and Nosema Apis’ elimination.
Beekeeper : Pavlides Vangelis – Location: Litochoro, Northern Greece

Beginning of February 2008, Vangelis was worried because upon the inspection of the hives he observed the following symptoms:

-Plenty of yellow streaks in the flight deck and inside the hives.
-The bees were crawling in the front of the hives unable to fly.
-A general slow spring build up was very obvious.

Upon microscopic examination the sample found with 5.500 spores, evidencing the high degree of infestation.

As it is known treatment of Nosemosis with chemical products and means is strictly prohibited, thus Vangelis approached us requiring our assistance in eliminating Nosemosis.

We supplied Vangelis with the appropriate number of Aloe Vera drinks No 15, along with the application instructions and he proceeded accordingly.

Upon completion of the applications, samples were taken again for microscopic examination and in the analyzed sample found 200 (YES Two hundred ONLY) spores.

24/32008 Vangelis reported:
No signs of Nosema Apis
The bees are flying in a very strong manner
The entire population looks extremely healthy
An increase number of new healthy brood appeared.

That’ s how we got the nickname of “Nosema Apis busters” in our country.

We can assist you too, to overcome the problem of Nosemosis.

NOSEMOSIS -THE END OF Nosema ApisIT!!!!!

"NOSEMOSIS - CAME TO THE END"
“If you tell me, I will listen। If you show me, I will see। If you allow me to try, I will learn।” Lao-tzu, Chinese philosopher 6 BC.
That’s how we started our involvement in the beekeeping industry two years ago.

Since then and having built a substantial Beekeepers Network in Greece , we listen and we monitor on daily basis the experience gained by the Greek beekeepers for the efficacy of the applications of Aloe Vera Products tried on their beehives and treating the various bees’ conditions, especially the Nosemosis.

After the prohibition of the use of Fumidil the last three years, the beekeepers in our country became in despair as no alternative treatment was introduced, resulting to Nosema Apis multiplication and stronger thus more resistant.

As it is known, an infestation with 100 spores, it causes the infestation of all colon cells of the bees . In such case 30 to 50 million of spores are present in the midgut of the bee. If the bee is unable to defecate, up to250 million of spores could be find to the bees.

In some instances some of the spores remain at a lethargic stage, looking to the first opportunity to burst, thus no visible signs of symptoms are noticed, other than the very familiar signs of the bees laziness.

Some of the favorable conditions for the spores’ burst are:

The fatigue of the bees from the many and frequent flights.
The rich and heavy floral composition ( fir, pine, thyme etc.)
The change of floral composition
The relocation of the hives from place to place.
The areas with increased humidity.
During rain periods, and after these periods.

In other instances, due to favorable for the spore conditions, have already being burst and the symptoms are visible everywhere. In the hive’s covers, the fly deck, and in the floor as well.

All above facts made known to us by a number of beekeepers, agronomists and veterinary surgeons specializing in the beekeeping industry.

We had no experience in the beekeeping practice. What we knew ourselves from our experience of various applications to the animals, almost of all species, it was the efficacy of the Aloe Vera Gel and other products of Forever Living Products, to the epithelial tissue, considering that the epithelial tissues which are provided by the skin, digestive and respiratory systems, are an animal’s first defense to a disease producing agent. If these are breached by a micro organism or foreign substance, specialized cells of the immune system-white blood cells-engulf them or neutralize them with antibodies.

We entered to the beekeeping almost accidentally, as most of the cases with Aloe Vera happen.

A veterinary surgeon, with whom I was closely working the products to the animals, asked me one day of June 2006, whether Aloe Vera can play a role to Nosemosis as well, explaining to me that Nosemosis is a bee’s disease, affecting very badly the colonies placing the country’s beekeepers in constrains.

My answer it was “What do we have to lose by trying it at the bees?”.

My friend understood clearly my comment and counter commented, that “I should try it to my father’s hives immediately as the honey collection days were just weeks away.
One week after the first application, my vet surgeon friend reported that “symptoms of Nosemosis were decreased down to the 50%.
By the end of the second week, and after the second application he reported that “symptoms” have now decreased down to 70-80%.
By the end of the third week, and after the third application he reported shouting “THIS IS IT. IT’S ALL OVER. No sign of Nosemosis in the apiary of my father.

I, instantly felt, and an inner voice were shouting at me. “Go and find the beekeepers of the country and assist them to overcome their problems. You have a duty to assist these people and save them from their constrains and financial losses from which are suffering.

And we started, going from beekeeper to beekeeper. 400 beekeepers from all over the country joined my Network to-date and this number is increasing with a rather fast pace every month. This number represents in fact over the 6% of the declared professional beekeepers of my country.

The almost absolute success in fighting Nosemosis reached the impressive percentage of 97%, whilst the 3% is still a matter reconsideration of certain techniques which we try these days.

Very soon the beekeepers asked our assistance for fighting the brood diseases.
The results there were successful by 100 %.
All the minor brood diseases such as SAC BROOD, BALD BROOD, CHALK BROOD and similar conditions, are now considered as past history for the beekeepers in our country..

In order to assist further the beekeepers, we made a special program aiming to the recuperation of the lost hives and population from which they were suffering the last years.

We are indeed very proud today, because one-by-one the beekeepers of our Network started and recovering their losses.

With this program we brought a 100% increase of the population of their Apiaries, irrespective the age of their queens.

In their majority the beekeepers are now confessing a 30-35 increase of honey production over the year.
Their colonies are very busy now, running tireless, free of conditions from which suffered in the past in a extreme good health conditions.

Sounds as a dream?

It is the reality.

Should you know some Greek beekeepers ask them. It could well be that among them there would be some friends of yours, who cal tell you about it.

Don’t you think that time came for you too, to take the benefit of our programs and their applications and resolves all the current problems?

Just ask us.

We can assist you too.

TREATING BEES WITH NATURAL PRODUCTS

Dear Bekeeper,
Two years have already gone, since I introduced the application of the Aloe Vera juice and other products, such as Tablets of Bee Pollen, Tablets of Bee-Propolis and tablets of B12 vitamins, (all products produced by Forever) in my effort to assist the Beekeepers of my country in eliminating the various conditions of the bees.

A brief recap of the events:

NOSEMOSIS: The success in eliminating this condition reached 97%. The 3% failure is caused to the “smartness” of certain beekeepers who “know everything”.

BROOD MINOR DISEASES. The success in eliminating the brood diseases of all kind reached the 100%. There is an exception. It does not work only when the products are mixed with the sirup.

POPULATION INCREASE:. It is unbelievable. Beekeepers are “complaining”, having too much work adding and adding new frames into the hives and adding floors. Have succeeded over 100% increase by adding the Vitamins B12 and tablets of Bee Pollen to the Aloe Vera juice. Exception. The Caucasus breed of bees are resisting to fast increase.

AMERICAN & EUROPEAN FOOL BROOD: 4 AFB and 2 EFB cases, successfully treated, giving serious hope that it works in these conditions as well.

COLONIES COLLAPSE DISORDER (CCD): I dealt with 3 beekeepers in particular since May 2007, who had been fallen victims of CCD, having lost more than 50% of their heaves. A year later they started regaining the lost population. How I did it? I introduced periodical treatment of the bees throughout the year, especially prior and after transportation and prior changing the kind of blossom.

VARROA: Still puzzled. After two reported cases in which the beekeepers witnessed dead varroa outside the heaves, the majority of the beekeepers are reporting that after treating the bees with the given prescription, noticing no Varroa attacks to the brood.
Some beekeepers are reporting that whilst proceeded with no treatment against Varroa last year, they do not see varroa mites in the hives this year.
I started monitoring closer a number of professional beekeepers in order to study more carefully the results.

HONEY: Almost all beekeepers, especially the ones treating the bees all year round, are reporting a 30% increase of honey production last year.. The beekeepers of the Islands turned crazy as their honey is the most expensive in the country (thyme),

The number of beekeepers joining me and working together , treating the bees with natural products ONLY, reached the 400.
This number corresponds to the 6% of the professional beekeepers of my country.

We keep going……

Kind regards
